CPhT

Hello everyone  My name is Beckah, I am a mom of two boys and live in Indiana. I got pregnant with my first son in 2018 and became too stressed to finish school and dropped out my senior year. While pregnant with my second son in 2020 I found the Excel Center where they helped me get my high school diploma. To graduate through this program I needed to obtain a certification and that is where I met our amazing Katie. All I could think about is how awesome it would be to hold a certification and what it would mean to my boys one day.

I took her class at the end of 21 and it was the best thing I ever decided. I have never met a teacher so kind and willing to work with students the way she did with me. She never let me fall through the cracks. She was with me every step of the way even when my son was hospitalized, or when I stressed myself too thin. She was there to reassure me that I was strong and capable of success. I think what I enjoyed most about her class is the lesson plans she made. It was easy to follow and she gave us everything we needed. Also I am crazy for projects and she had those too. My oldest son would help me color and it really made me feel like I could be a mama and still keep school a priority without losing time with my boy.

What helped me most with her class was her and I don’t think I will ever be able to stress that enough. I always fell behind in school. I never could get the teachers to set time aside for me or make the curriculum easy for me to understand. It was like I was always talked down to and it made me feel bad that I could understand what they were telling me. Katie was just the opposite; she would always try and help me through it.

Now I work at Amazon Pharmacy as a CPhT and it's the best place I have ever worked. I feel so accomplished that I can take care of me and my kids with no help. I wouldn’t be able to do that to the extent I am now without my certification . Being a CPhT was just a big step in the right direction for me. I am currently taking my prerequisites at IvyTech to become a nurse and believe it or not, a lot of what I learned at KLR Pharmacy Technician Training School is coming in handy.
