CPhT

My name is Yalonda Patrick I am 29 years old and I live in Charleston, South Carolina. I attend the first Goodwill Palmetto Excel Center in South Carolina. I was an at home mother for 6 years due to being a single parent, not having a baby sitter, and not wanting my child that has autism in just anyone’s care. I only needed 2 credits to graduate so I asked my coach towards the end of our last term if I could start my certification. That was on the Friday and KLR started their new term that Monday. I had determination and I refused to take no for an answer. I got the great news that I was accepted early that Monday morning and I had to stop and pray. I juggled the last 2 weeks of school and caught up on all my onboarding assignments that following Tuesday to prove my seriousness. At first I was very intimidated because everyone knew the answers to the questions already and I jumped in late. My teacher and coach Brent never made me feel like it was a rushed thing. He was always responding quickly and reassuring to any questions or concerns. The class was fast paced but the note taking was very strategic and embedded all the info into my memory. We as a class were prepared perfectly for the NHA and we all agreed that it was exactly how we practiced. Since I am the first student at my excel center to complete my certification my coach is working hard at getting me in the hospital pharmacy at the Medical University of South Carolina! I am so excited and very grateful for the opportunity!
