Jessica Surgeon

Hello, my name is Jessica. I am 30 years old, born and raised on the eastside of Indianapolis,Indiana. To be sitting here right now typing my success story for KLRs website is almost unbelievable because let me tell you I never thought I could do it. 

Growing up happened really fast at only 15. I found out I was pregnant and I made one of the biggest mistakes by dropping out of school. I said I would go back and I really did want to. A tragedy happened, I lost my dad, the only parent I had, my best friend, my only supporter was gone. My daughter Nevaeh was only 9 months old.  My finance now Steve was my angel from god knew I needed him. Steve  takes care of Nevaeh as his own and has since the first day he met us 14 years ago.  A few years later at 19 we had a baby girl together. Her name is Aniyah. I started off at Arbys. I was there for many years and even made it all the way to General Manager in my mid twenties. I was really good at it but I knew I wanted more. I always knew I wanted a career. Years go by here . I couldn't be more proud of myself. I went to Christel House Dors to pursue getting my high school diploma and they gave me the opportunity to take this class.  Being a student at  KLR has been so amazing! In only 8 weeks I learned so much. I can't wait to pursue my career as a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist. Thank you to the KLR team and to my classmates this has been such a great journey.
