Terra Smith

My name is Terra Smith, I am a 44 years young mother of two, step mother of four and a Nana for fourteen. I am  from Indianapolis, Indiana. I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for the past 20 years. An as some may know that line of work takes a beating on ones body both physically and mentally. To say that I am ready for a change is an understatement. Just so happens my daughter Valarie Smith, is currently in the middle of opening  her own home health business and has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone an go back to school to gain knowledge in the clerical realm of health care such as medical billing and coding. As timing would also have it,  a fried of mine just graduated from KlR’s term 4 pharmacy tech class. Cheyennne Brown told me all about the program and told me all the different classes it offered and how the staff really helped her rebuild her confidence as well as her life. When I seen the difference in this sweet woman I knew it was my another sign for me to jus take the leap.  Now, I had never taken an online class before so I was very skeptical but, with the patience and guidance of the KLR team, I trusted the process and am now here to write this paper. Its truly is something to have an army behind you cheering you on and believing in you when you don’t believe in yourself.   I really enjoyed being able to go at my own pace and not feeling pressured to get things done.  The staff’s daily communication and  encouragement truly is what helped me most during class. I am going to rebuild my resume and put myself out there and see what happens trusting that the universe has a better plan for me. I think my next goal is to do some self healing and trusting that I am worth more than I give my myself and believe in myself to do hard things.
